With summer just around the corner it can be tricky to keep your students focused and engaged! Are you looking for math activities for your wiggly end of the year kindergarten students? Keep reading for 3 summer math activities perfect for end of the year review (or summer school) and fun enough to keep your students attention.
Add seasonal themes to your math activities and make them more engaging and relevant for your students. Here are 3 fun math resources with a summer theme I used in my classroom.
Pocket Chart Game
Make math year end review fun with this pocket chart game! Read the little rhyme and ask a student to identify a number. Call them up to peek behind and see if they found the hidden summer object. Play until the hidden object is found and then play again! Believe me… they always want to! This makes a great whole group / circle time activity or…use in a more targeted way with small groups.
This set includes numerals to 20 and ten frames 1-20 (alphabet & sight words too). The cards are editable so you can switch up the numbers, add number words or even include simple addition & subtraction problems too!

Summer Number Puzzles
Number puzzles are another great end of the year review for counting and number order. This summer set covers the numbers to 20 but is editable and can be updated for all the numbers your students need (numbers to 100, counting backwards, skip counting etc.). The puzzles can be laminated and used year after year.
Looking for something easy and no prep for those last few days… use the black & white puzzles! Your students will keep busy colouring, cutting and glueing the puzzles in order.
