Looking to add some leprechauns and rainbows into your classroom this March? These free printables are a perfect addition to your math or literacy lessons for St. Patrick’s Day.
I have to admit something first…. I have actually never taught during or about St. Patrick’s Day! For the 20 years I was in the classroom it was always during our Spring Break. Through the years, I created printables to use in my classroom for all the other holidays. They eventually turned into a line of TPT products: my Holiday Printable Packs. But I felt I couldn’t leave St.Patrick’s Day out completely… so a freebie it was!
Sight Word Scramble
Students cut and paste the letters to spell common sight words. The remaining letters make a St. Patrick’s Day word. Hint: the picture on the page is a clue!
Word Search
Who doesn’t love a word search? This is a super simple version with no words overlapping or backwards… which can be confusing when you are just learning to read! Students will find, print and write a sentence.
Labeling a Picture
This activity is a great way to introduce that seasonal vocabulary and get your kiddos writing. Students can cut and paste to label the picture or just print the words in the boxes. With a picture cue and the words at their fingers even the most reluctant writers will be able to write a matching sentence or even story!
Patterns
A little patterning review is great any time of the year! Students cut and paste to fill in the missing parts of the pattern.
Counting On
If your kinder or first grade class is anything like mine were… you will have kiddos who are just learning the numbers to 10 and others that could can count all day long! These differentiated pages allow all your students to count on…. from where they are right now. I have versions with number lines for students who need the reference and pages for numbers 1-10, 11-20 & 1-100. The nice thing is everyone is working on the same skill, on a page that looks similar but…. is just right for them!
